A number of postdoctoral positions are available in Dr. Yong Xu’s laboratory at Children’s Nutrition Research Center at Baylor College of Medicine (Houston). The Xu group has been using genetic mouse models, combined with neuroanatomy, optogenetics/chemogenetics, electrophysiology, molecular biology and biochemistry to study the neural control of metabolism, mood and cognitive behaviors (please see https://www.bcm.edu/people/view/yong-xu-m-d-ph-d/b2852c80-ffed-11e2-be68-080027880ca6 for details). Previous work from the Xu group has resulted in publications in Nature Medicine, Nature Neuroscience, Nature Communications, Molecular Psychiatry, Cell Metabolism, Neuron, Journal of Clinical Investigation, PNAS, Diabetes, etc. Ongoing projects receive funding from NIH and USDA.
Candidates need to have a doctoral degree in neuroscience, physiology, endocrinology, molecular biology, or other related disciplines.
